Marvel's Avengers is an action adventure game where you control popular Marvel characters to defeat Earth's newest threat. You are able to control many of the characters from the movie universe and it's simple to switch between them during combat. There are also some RPG elements in terms of customization and making your character stronger, but this game is more about the combat and skills of each character.

Primary Features

This is an action adventure game where you will be fighting wave after wave of enemy with your chosen Marvel character. Some of the characters you can choose from include Iron man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow and Hulk. There are many others as well. This game relies heavily on the movie universe and you can expect to see most of the major characters from the films.

The primary antagonist is Taskmaster. He has decided to attack Earth during the Avengers Day celebration. This was supposed to be a day where the public could meet their heroes and talk with them face-to-face, but Taskmaster has other plans in store. Throughout the game you will be fighting enemies, getting closer to Taskmaster and stopping his threat for good.

Changing Characters

Unlike other similar games where you pick a character and stick with them throughout the whole game, Marvel's Avengers makes it simple to switch between them. You can be Hulk one moment and Black Widow the next. This allows you to be all your favorite characters or to try someone new if you're getting bored of the current character. You can do this to ensure that everyone progresses and unlocks all their skills.

Each character has different skills and controls, which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. For example, Iron Man can fly and depends on long-range combat while Captain America is more of a melee fighter and can only run and jump. This might leave some characters feeling limited.

Character Design

The graphics are fantastic, but fans of the movie universe might notice that the characters don't look exactly the same. Some of the details have been changed such as hair color and body shape. The designs aren't bad, but be prepared for your favorite character to look a little different than you're used to.

Singleplayer and Co-Op

This is intended as as singleplayer game, but there are co-op features as well up to four players. This means you can easily play the game alone and finish the entire story yourself, or you can invite friends or other random players to join in for some fun. This caters to many players and it also ensures that everyone can pick their favorite character.

Expanding Story

The story fits right into a common Avengers comic or movie, so players will not be disappointed with this. The game developers intend this to be an expanding game where new episodes and quests are added for several years. This means that there should always be something new to enjoy.
